Verdict on Nusrat murder Oct 24
A Feni tribunal will deliver its verdict on the much-talked-about murder of Feni madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi on October 24.
Women and Child Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Mamunur Rashid fixed the date on Monday, after hearing the arguments of the two sides.
The Police Bureau of Investigation submitted the chargesheet against 16 people in the death of the student to the court.
They are principal SM Siraj ud doula, Nur Uddin, Zobair Hossain, Shakhawat Hossain Jabed, Absar Uddin, Abdur Rahim Sharif, Iftekhar Uddin Rana, Ruhul Amin, Umme Sultana Poppy, Kamrun Nahar Moni, Maksud Alam, Hafez Abdul Kader, Imran Hossain, Mohiuddin Shakil, Mohammad Shamim, and Shahadat Hossain Shamim.
Nusrat Jahan Rafi, 18, an Aleem examinee from Sonagazi Fazil Madrasa was set on fire allegedly by some fellows in the morning of April 6 as she refused to withdraw a case filed against the madrasa principal for sexual harassment.
She died at the Burn Unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital on the night of April 10.
