Don’t hold programmes from March 17-26: IGP
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed on Monday requested everyone never to hold any meetings or perhaps rallies from March 17-26 when the united states will celebrate the golden jubilee of independence and the birth centenary of Bangabandhu.

A 10-day programme has been organised nationally where five foreign heads of claims and governments are expected to come to Dhaka to wait these events.
 
“Don’t hold virtually any meetings, rallies and programmes during this time period that may disrupt the activity and reliability of the point out dignitaries,” he said at a programme at Rajarbagh Law enforcement Lines.

Police Service Base organised the scholarships awarding program of meritorious children of cops at the Bangladesh Police Auditorium.

IGP Benazir urged the persons to cooperate with police and restrict their movements during this period.

‘Be free from militancy’

Benazir said everyone should be free from militancy and practice religious beliefs consciously. Spiritual customs and values must be practiced with awareness.

He asked the students to stay away from drugs.

“You have to prepare yourselves as proud residents of the country. You'll want self-esteem and self-respect. There has to be love for the united states, respect for the annals and traditions of the country," he said.

He urged the parents to invest time with their children. "You (parents) have to understand their demands. You need to be careful in order that they don’t turn into victims of cybercrime,” he said.

Md Mahbubur Rahman, DIG of Industrial Law enforcement and Vice President of Bangladesh Police Service Association, presided over the function.

Extra IG (Administration and Functions) of Police headquarters Dr Md Moinur Rahman Chowdhury, Additional Commissioner of DMP Krishnapad Roy, Superintendent of Police of Narayanganj and Standard Secretary of Bangladesh Police Service Association Mohammad Zaidul Alam addressed the programme, amongst others.

Afroza Parveen spoke with respect to the students.

Heads of varied police units located in Dhaka, senior officers, pupils and their father and mother were present in the event.
