Home Minister asks IGP to avoid people rushing back again to Dhaka
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has asked Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Mohammad Javed Patwary to avoid rush of folks toward the capital.

The Home Minister gave the order on Saturday.

Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said IGP Javed Patwary was asked to do something so than anyone could enter the capital Dhaka.

Besides, the BGMEA was asked to issue a clear message about the ready-made garment workers, he said.

Thousands of employees, specially garment workers have been rushing back toward Dhaka from different remote southern and western districts of the country ignoring the risks of coronavirus infection. Rush of a large number of garment personnel was observed at Mawa Ferryghat in Munshiganj district and Doulatdia Ferryghat in Rajbari district on Saturday morning.

The federal government declared general holidays at public and private offices and educational institutions from March 26 to April 4. Later, the holidays were extended to April 11. The government took the step to ensure social distancing and keep people stay at homes for minimum fourteen days.

The government has also deployed army through the entire country in order that none can go beyond their homes and gather on the roads. The army personnel have already been assisting the civil and police administration to enforce the restrictions on people.

Besides, the federal government has imposed a ban on the movement of mass transports and urged persons to stay indoors to prevent the spread of the virus. But its efforts will face a hardcore challenge as thousands of folks start returning to the capital to join their respective work places.
