Benazir Ahmed takes office as IGP
Cap Dr Benazir Ahmed took the charge as the new Inspector General of Bangladesh Police on Wednesday.
Dr Benazir Ahmed has taken the charge as the brand new Inspector General of Bangladesh Police (IGP) on Wednesday.
He's the 30th IGP of Bangladesh Police.
Earlier in the day, Benazir Ahmed was adorned with rank badge at Ganabhaban in presence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Before his appointment as the IGP, Benazir Ahmed has served as the Director General of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) since 2015.
Previously April 8, Benazir Ahmed was appointed as the new Inspector General of Police (IGP). The Home Ministry issued a notification on your day saying that the appointment should come into influence on April 15.
He has served in various important positions in the country's law enforcement agencies, including as the principle of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
