Benazir new IGP, Mamun RAB DG likely
Rapid Action Batallion (RAB) Director General Dr Benazir Ahmed will probably be appointed as new Inspector General of Police (IGP), while Head of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun as new Director General of the RAB.
Sources at the Ministry of Home Affairs said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave approval to an overview about the appointments at Ganabhaban on Tuesday afternoon.
The sources said a circular would be issued on Wednesday in this regard.
It might be mentioned that the present IGP Jabed Patwary's tenure will end on April 13.
