IGP 'kind enough', says BNP
BNP on Wednesday claimed that Inspector Standard of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed assured them of extending cooperation in keeping their party's programmes chalked away to celebrate the golden jubilee of Bangladesh's independence.

"We've sought cooperation from the IGP so that we can keep our countrywide programmes smoothly on the occasion of the golden jubilee of the independence. He's kind plenty of as he said there is no problem from their area," explained BNP chairperson's adviser Abdus Salam.

He made the remarks while taking to reporters after a gathering between a good BNP delegation and the IGP in the authorities Headquarters in the town.

Salam said they urged the IGP to provide them authorization for inaugurating of their year-long programmes to celebrate the golden jubilee at a venue found in the city on March 1.

He said in addition they sought cooperation from the authorities chief to bring out BNP's Independence Day time Rally from their central business office on March 26 and hold a good grand rally at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan on March 30. "The IGP said they've no problem," said the BNP head.

Salam along with BNP chairperson's adviser Bijan Kanti Sarkar, BNP Publicity Affairs Secretary Shahiduddin Chowdhury Anee and Liberation Affairs Secretary Zainul Abedin met the IGP found in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, the Police Headquarters said a four-member BNP delegation met the IGP beneath the banner of its national committee of golden jubilee special event.

They talked to the IGP about the permission and security for their golden jubilee programmes throughout March.

The IGP suggested them to take permission separately from the authorities concerned for each and every of their programmes in and outside Dhaka.

Benazir Ahmed requested the BNP leaders to hold indoor programmes maintaining health protocols considering the current Coronavirus situation.
