HC seeks Public Works Ministry's probe reports
The High Court has sought the probe reports of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works over purchasing furniture and other household articles for the officials' apartment of Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant at abnormally high price.
Responding to a writ petition, an HC bench of Justice Tariq ul Hakim and Justice Md Shohrowardi passed the order on Monday.
The court gave directives to submit the reports of the two committees through the attorney general’s office after Eid vacation.
Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Sayedul Haque Suman on Sunday filed the writ petition with the High Court seeking judicial probe into the allegation of irregularities in furniture purchase for Rooppur plant's apartment.
