Govt officials' house found in Canada's Begum Para: ACC requests details
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has asked the federal government for details on properties owned by public servants in Canada's "Begum Para."
ACC Secretary Dilwar Bakht said this to the reporters at the anticorruption watchdog's office on Mon.
Before, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen discussed the capital flight from Bangladesh to Toronto's Begum Para.
Dilwar said, "We are actually investigating the problem of 28 properties owned by authorities officials in Begum Para and have asked the federal government for a list."
"We will start focusing on it when the list is definitely available."
On November 18, the foreign minister discussed 28 money laundering cases in this connection at an application of the Dhaka Reporters' Unity.
"I thought the quantity of politicians will be higher, but there have been only four of these and some businessmen. The majority was government officials."
