Five including 4 govt officials sued
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Wednesday filed a case against five people, including four government officials, over fraudulence in the allocation of a government plot in Purbachal residential project.
The accused are: former additional land acquisition officer of Dhaka Deputy Commissioner (DC) office Md Afsar Ali Sheikh, former member (Estate) of Rajuk Md Rezaul Karim Torafdar, Rajuk’s former caretaker engineer Mohammad Ali, former director (finance and accounts) of Rajuk Md Humayun Khan, and one Enina Begum from Bogura.
Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Assistant Director GM Ahsanul Kabir lodged the case with its integrated district office Dhaka-1, said Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee, public relations officer (PRO) of ACC.
According to the case statement, the accused plotted to allocate a 5-Katha government plot in favour of an affected indigenous person.
They also minimized its prize at a nominal digit through cheating and misusing power.
Later, it was revealed that the beneficiary’s identity was faked.
The incident took place from July 21, 2002, to October 10, 2005, said the PRO.
