ACC to quiz Mahi B Chowdhury, his wife
Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is set to quiz lawmaker Mahi B Chowdhury and his wife Ashfah Haque over their alleged involvement in money laundering.
The couple is to appear at ACC headquarters in the capital at 10 am on Sunday (August 25).
Mahi B Chowdhury and his wife were supposed to appear at ACC headquarters on August 7, but they didn’t appear. They sought time extension that is why ACC fixed August 25 to appear,” ACC Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee said on August 7.
According to ACC sources, two separate letters, signed by Jalal Uddin Ahmed, deputy director of ACC, were sent on August 4 asking them to appear before ACC headquarters at 10:00am on August 7.
According to the letter, Mahi B Chowdhury, joint secretary general of Bikalpadhara Bangladesh, have allegedly laundered money to the United States and amassed money beyond known sources of income
Mahi B Chowdhury is the son of former president AQM Badrudozza Chowdhury.
