Destiny MD jailed for 3yrs
A court in Dhaka on Tuesday sentenced Destiny Group's Managing Director Rafiqul Amin to three years' imprisonment in a case filed for not submitting his wealth statement.
Dhaka Special Judge Shamim Ahmed pronounced the verdict.
The court also fined him Tk 50 lakh.
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the cases against 22 officials of Destiny Group including Rafiqul and its Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd Chairman Mohammad Hossain with Kalabagan Police Station in July 31, 2012, on charge of misappropriating investors' money amounting to Tk 3,285 crore.
