Drug peddler drown in Padma in Rajshahi ‘gunfight’
A suspected drug peddler was killed in a reported gunfight with police in Kashiadanga area in the metropolitan city early Tuesday (July 16). 

The deceased, Md Amin, was accused in a several narcotics cases and a resident of Harupur area of suburb of Rajshahi metropolitan city.

Mansur Ali Arif, officer in charge of Kashiadanga police station, told Banglanews that police conducted an anti-narcotics drive at I Dam-5 of the Padma River around 3:00am. 

Sensing presence of the law enforcers, drug peddlers opened fire on them, forcing them to retaliate that triggered a gunfight. 

Later, police recovered Amin's body from the river, he said.

Amin might have drowned while fleeing as his body had no mark of bullet injury, the OC added.

Later, police recovered a shooter gun, two bullets and 79 bottles of Phensedyl from the spot.

Three police officials also suffered injuries during the gunfight.
