Meherpur ‘gunfight’ kills ‘drug dealer’
A suspected drug peddler was killed in a reported ‘gunfight’ between two internal groups in Gangni upazila of the district.
The incident happened at Karmodi village of the upazila around 1:30 am on Wednesday (May 22).
The deceased, identified as Nazmul Hossen, son of Nazrul Islam, was a resident of Sahratola village of the upazila.
A locally-made pistol, one kg hemp and a motorbike were seized from the spot, Obaidur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Gangni police station, told Banglanews
Dead body was sent to Meherpur General Hospital morgue. Separate cases will be filed over the incident, OC added.
