Suspected drug trader killed in 'gunfight'
A suspected drug trader was killed in a reported gunfight with police in Saperdeil area of Maheshkhali upazila of Cox's Bazar district early Sunday.
Deceased Mahmudul Karim, 28, of Dakshinkul area in the upazila, was a listed drug and arms dealer, said Maheshkhali Police Station officer in-charge Pradip Kumar Das.
With this, the number of deaths in anti-drugs crackdown stood at 233 across the country since May 12.
