Robber suspect killed in 'gunfight'
A suspected robber was killed in a gunfight between two gangs in Araihazar upazila of Narayanganj early Sunday.
Son of Noor Mia, deceased Zakir Hossain, 40, was a resident in Dakshinkhan area of Dhaka.
Zakir found dead following a gunfight between two groups of robbers over the sharing of looted booty at Shantipur village in the upazila, said MA Haque, officer-in-charge of Araihazar police station.
Hearing the sound of gunshots, patrol police rushed to the spot and found bullet-hit Zakir. The dacoit was taken to he upazila health complex where the on-duty doctors declared him dead, the OC added.
There were seven cases with different police stations against Zakir for robbery.
Some lethal arms and bullets were recovered from the spot.
