Bus kills rickshaw passenger in city
A man was killed as a bus hit a rickshaw in Jatrabari area in the capital city on Monday (April 15) afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Khokon Miah, 40, a resident of Kanchpur area of Narayanganj.
The accident took place when a bus from backside hit a rickshaw that was carrying Khokon on a road in Jatrabari around 5:00pm, said Kazi Wazed Ali, officer in charge of Jatrabari Police Station.
The victim fell down from the rickshaw when the bus hit the vehicle and the bus ran over the man, leaving him injured critically, said co-passenger Kamal Sarder.
He was rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where doctors declared him dead.
The bus was seized and its driver was arrested in this connection.
