Youth dies, wife hurt in city gas fire
A young man, who along with his wife sustained burn injuries in a fire that broke out at their house from a gas cylinder explosion in Dhaka's Mohammadpur area early Tuesday, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in the evening.
The deceased was known as Saiful Islam Rubel, 28.
Sub-inspector Bachchu Miah, in-charge of DMCH police outpost, said the originated at the tin-shed house on Road-13 in Nabinagar Housing after a cooking gas cylinder exploded around 5am, leaving the couple injured.
They were admitted to the hospital around 6:30am, he added.
Saiful succumbed to his injuries around 7pm while his wife Sajena Akhter, 18, was undergoing treatment at the hospital.
