August 21 grenade attack: Convicted accused held
Rapid Actions Battalion (RAB) members have arrested a fugitive convicted on a case filed over the grenade attack in an Awami Group rally on August 21, 2004.

RAB headquarters' associate director Imran Hossain confirmed this on Tuesday.

Iqbal, who possesses been given life term imprisonment in the event, was nabbed from Diabari area on the capital on Monday night, among the established of the elite force verified.

He has been absconding for years.  

Some 15 convicted accused remain absconding while 33 are in prison.

Awami League leader Sheikh Hasina was the previous loudspeaker of the rally to protest against violence and terrorism. Right she finished her speech and posed for photographs at the requests of journalists, grenades started raining down all around.

A day following the attack, police filed a case with Motijheel Law enforcement Station against unnamed people.
