Verdict in PM Hasina’s convoy strike case today
The Chief Judicial Magistrate Courtroom of Satkhira will deliver its verdict on Thursday in the event regarding 2002’s attack on the convoy of then-opposition innovator and current Primary Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The verdict will be announced in the court of Satkhira Chief Judicial Magistrate Humayun Kabir.

The hearings in the event commenced on January 27.

The court declared the bail cancellation on that evening and sent all 34 accused in custody to jail. Among the 50 accused in cases like this nowadays behind the bars is definitely Tiger Khokon. Fifteen additional accused including ex - Councillor Abdul Quader Bacchu remain on the run.

On January 27, Satkhira Chief Judicial Magistrate Humayun Kabir announced the day of the verdict. From this time onwards, the Awami League leaders and personnel began anticipating the judgment. Party leaders and employees have got demanded exemplary punishment in this case.

Satkhira District Awami League Basic Secretary Md Nazrul Islam said: "We expect exemplary punishment for the barbaric strike on Sheikh Hasina found in 2002. The persons of Satkhira and the country are waiting to listen to this verdict as well.”

Satkhira Judge Courtroom PP Advocate Abdul Latif said: "I assume that the data we presented to the courtroom in this case will ensure the maximum punishment for the accused."

On August 30, 2002, Primary Minister Sheikh Hasina was time for Magura from visiting a freedom fighter's wife in Satkhira when her convoy got attacked in Kalaroa.

Hasina survived the attack relatively unscathed but many of the Awami League leaders including District Awami League convener Engineer Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Central Awami League innovator Fatema Zaman Sathi, Abdul Matin, Jobaidul Haque Russell and Shahidul Haque Jibon were injured. Countless journalists from Satkhira had been also attacked.
At the same time, Kalaroa’s commander of freedom fighters Mohammad Moslem Uddin filed a case against 27 for the attack that was later dismissed due to certainly not being recorded at the police station.

The case got reopened on 15th October 2014 and investigating officer of this time pressed charges against 50 accused in this connection.
