Atiq inspects Kalshi-Baunia drain construction
Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam on Saturday (May 18) inspected the construction work of a pipe drain in Kalshi area of Mirpur here.
The bypass drain will stretch from Kalshi to Baunia area, at a cost of around Tk 5.5 crore.
DNCC initiated the project to prevent water-logging.
"Almost 90 percent of the construction has been done. The rest part will be finished within one week. Water-logging in this area will reduce by 80 percent once the construction of the drain is done," Atiqul Islam told reporters.
DNCC Chief Engineer Brig Gen Muhammad Jubayer Salehin, Ward Councillor Mobashwer Chowdhury, Supervising Engineer Sharif Uddin and Executive Engineer Enamul Kabir accompanied the mayor.
