ACC asks for riches statements of Papul's wife, daughter
Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Tuesday issued a notice in search of the asset statements of MP Selina Islam, the wife of MP Shahidul Islam Papul, now in custody of Kuwaiti law enforcement on allegations of corruption, and their girl Wafa Islam.
Independent notices were sent with their address from the ACC head office requesting the statements.
ACC PR officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya confirmed the matter.
ACC Director Akhtar Hossain Azad directed to submit the details of most movable / immovable property, liabilities, source of income and its acquisition within their names or their dependents within 21 business days.
In addition, it said that action would be taken against them beneath the ACC Act if indeed they failed to submit the assertion of property within the stipulated period or if indeed they submitted a false affirmation.
Previously November 11, investigating officer Salahuddin Ahmed filed a case against Papul, his wife MP Selina Islam, sister-in-regulation Jasmine Pradhan and girl Wafa Islam.
