2 women die after taking poison in Barishal
Two women died after consuming poison out of family feud in separate incidents in Agailjhara upazila of the district on Saturday (December 7).

A 26-year-old woman, identified as Sima Sarkar, wife of Sushanto Sarkar, who hails from Kodaldhoa village of the upazila, drank poison after quarreling with her husband in the morning, said Afjalul Karim, officer-in-charge of Agailjhara police station.

Meanwhile, Rafia Begum, wife of Hafiz, drank poison at her father’s residence on Thursday, but she breathed her last on Saturday afternoon.

According to Shahadat Molla, brother of the deceased, Rafiza’s husband remarried 5 months before. Afterwards, she came to her father’s house. She left behind a son. She consumed poison out of personal grievance against her husband, because he married a second time without her consent.
