Barishal Freed Day Observed
Barishal Feed day was observed in the divisional city through various programme, marking freedom of Barishal from occupation of Pakistani Army.

On this day in 1971,  'Mukti Bahini' (freedom fighters) took control of Barishal town, the then district headquarters and second largest river port of the country, defeating Pakistan occupation army in several pitched encounters.

To mark the day, MuktiJodha Sangshad district and city units arranged a discussion and a procession.

The discussion was presided over by Moklesur Rahman, Barishal city unit commander.

The meeting was addressed, among others, by district unit comander Sheikh Kutubuddin, Sadar upazila UNIT commander Ansar Uddin, A Rob, Shajahan Howlader, A. Haque Bir Bikrom, Sayed Anisur Rahman, Prodip Kumar Ghosh, AL MP candidate Zahid Faruk Shamim.

Speakers urged all to unite for upholding the spirit of Liberation War.
