Six Jamaat leaders arrested at Barishal
Barishal Metropolitan Police (BMP) arrested six leaders of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami from `Mahila Model Madrasa' on Nabagram road of the city on charge of plotting subversive activities on Friday afternoon.
Nurul Islam, officer in charge of Kotwali Police Station, told the journalists that the arrestees were gathering from different districts-- Satkhira, Bhola, Patuakhali, Jhalakati and Barishal for conducting subversive activities.
The arrestees are Fazlul Karim, 63, Bhola district Jamaat unit Amir, Abdul Hye, 55, Patuakhlai Municipality Amir, Kamrul Islam Khan, 46, former Amir of Gournadi upazila, Khalilur Rahaman, 46, from Satkhira, Keramat Ali, 65, from Madhabpasha and Mahbub Alom, 38, from Jhalakathi district.
