StanChart celebrates success reports of women
Regular Chartered Bangladesh recently organised a read-aloud for its staff members and their children on a bid to celebrate the incredible stories of some Bangladeshi women who kept their marks in their respective fields.
During the story-telling function, HerStory Base fellows spelled out the contributions of Khana, a Bengali poet and astrologer of olden moments, and Rokia Afzal Rahman, a modern-day woman business owner.
Khana authored rhymes on agricultural procedures which are still popular in rural Bangladesh, while Rokia is a trailblazer for girls empowerment, a former adviser of the caretaker authorities and the founding president of the Bangladesh Federation of Females Entrepreneurs.
The story-telling session was accompanied by a panel dialogue led by Bitopi Das Chowdhury, the country head of corporate affairs, brand and advertising of the bank.
The audience also heard the success stories of four women: Aasha Mehreen Amin, deputy editor of The Daily Star; Shumana Sharmin, characteristic editor of the Prothom Alo; Nishat Mazumder, the first Bangladeshi female to conquer the Everest, and Zareen Mahmud Hosein, founder of HerStory.
