Over 100 houses damaged in Suborno Char, child killed
Over 100 houses in Suborno Char upazila of Noakhali district were damaged and a child died in house collapse early Saturday in gusty wind due to cyclonic storm Fani.
Lakshmipur, Feni, Cahndpur and adjacent islands and chars are under danger signal 6.
Cyclone Fani hit the Indian state of Odisha early Friday and then, advanced towards Bangladesh through West Bengal.
Amid this, more than 100 houses were damaged in Suborno Char, said upazila implementation official Iqbal Hasan.
He said trees and houses were damaged in Char Wapda and Char Jabber union in severe storm. During child Aminul Haque of Char Wapda died in house collapse.
At least 30 people received injuries in the storm in Char Jabber union. They are being treated at Suborno Char Upazila Health Complex, the official added.
