Varsity student drowns in bay
A student of Brac University drowned in the bay while taking bath at Laboni point of the sea in Cox’s Bazar on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Iftekharul Alam Abid, 25, son of Yunus Ali, a resident of Feni district.
Abid drowned after washed away by wave while taking bath with other friends at Laboni point around 7.00am, said Mahmudul Alam, sub-inspector of Cox’s Bazar Tourist police.
He was rescued by tourist police and Sea Safe life guard members and rushed to Cox’s Bazar Sadar hospital where on duty doctor declared him dead.
