One more killed in 'shootout'
A suspected drug peddler was killed in a gunfight with the members of police in Shahrasti upazila of Chandpur early Thursday.
With this, the number of deaths stood at 213 across the country since May 12.
The deceased could not be identified yet.
On secret information that a gang of drug traders was staying near Chikunia Bridge area, a team of police conducted a drive there at about 1:30am, Shahrasti Police Station OC Md Mizanur Rahman said.
When the team reached the scene, the gunfight took place between the gang members and the law enforcers team.
Police, later, found the bullet-hit man and rushed him to Upazila Health Complex where the man succumbed to his wounds around 3:30am.
A pipegun, six cartridges and 83 Yaba pills were recovered from the spot, the OC said.
