‘Top terrorist’ killed in Dhaka ‘shootout’
A suspected top terrorist of Mohammadpur area was killed in a shootout reportedly taken place in Keraniganj of Dhaka early Wednesday (August 1).
He was identified as Monir, known as ‘Sixty Five Monir’ in the locality.
RAB-2 Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Md Rabiul Islam told Banglanews that they conducted a drive on information that a robber gang was attempting to commit robbery, in Ati Bhawal area of Keraniganj.
RAB fired back in retaliation as the robbers opened fire at them.
At one stage, Monir died on the spot after receiving gunshot.
However, he was accused in more than 10 cases filed over possessing arms and committing robbery.
