ACC raids civil surgeon office in Dhaka
The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) conducted a sudden drive in the office of Dhaka Civil Surgeon and found evidence of bribery.
The drive, on the basis of a hotline complaint from victimized job seekers, was launched on Wednesday (July 18).
According to ACC source, the officials, of Dhaka Civil Surgeon in city’s Azimpur area, confessed to taking Tk 300-1000 for providing health certificates to job seekers. The officials also secretly observe the distribution of the bribe money.
ACC assistant director Zakaria and deputy assistant director Saiduzzaman led the operation. Police members also accompanied the drive.
ACC Director General (Administration) Mohammad Munir Chowdhury said that this corruption has been going on for a long time. ACC will take legal action soon against those found responsible with evidence and statements.
However, Trap Team is closely monitoring to arrest the accused red-handed, he added.
