ACC seeks wealth statement of DIG Mizan over graft
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) issued a notice to deputy inspector general (DIG) Mizanur Rahman and his wife Sohelia Anar Ratna asking to submit their wealth statement within seven days.
ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattachariya said after finding evidence of illegal wealth, the commission sent notice to them on Wednesday (July 11) seeking wealth statement.
Earlier on May 3, the ACC questioned DIG in over allegation illegal wealth illegally. The commission also found his involvement in money laundering.
In January this year, DIG Mizanur Rahman was withdrawn from the DMP headquarters and attached to the police headquarters following allegation of marrying a woman Morium Akter forcefully and torturing her.
