‘Drug dealer’ killed in Gaibandha ‘shootout’
 A suspected drug dealer was killed in a reported shootout with the members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Sundarganj upazila of Gaibandha early Tuesday (August 6).

The deceased was identified as Abdus Salam alias Thosa Salam, 48.

Two RAB members sustained injuries in the incident.

RAB-13 Gaibandha Camp Assistant Commander ASP Habibur Rahman Habib confirmed the matter to media.

Firearms including foreign pistol, bullets, phensedyl and hemp were recovered from the spot.

The deceased was a top and listed drug dealer. He was accused in more than 28 cases filed over drug dealing, said Sundarganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdus Sobhan.

The body will be handed over to the deceased’s family once the autopsy is done, he added.
