Two suspected drug dealers were killed in a reported shootout with policemen in Satkhira sadar upazila early Sunday (July 15).

The deceased were identified as Abdul Kalam Azad, Jubo League president of Keragachi union unit of Awami League in Kolaroa upazial and Delwar Hossain, a resident of Badshah union in the sadar upazila.

Satkhira Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Maruf Ahmed told Banglanews that Detective Branch (DB) of police earlier detained Kalam and Delwar with 2 kg hemp and 20 bottles of Phensedyl, from Badshah Bazar area on Sunday afternoon (July 14).

The duo told the law enforcers during interrogation that a big consignment of drugs will enter the country through border, at the night.

A team of sadar thana police and DB police launched a drive accompanying the duo, at a water body named Koyar Bil under Badshah union in the bordering area, around 3:30am.
