Multiple BNP candidates for Gafargaon seat
Confusion prevails among the BNP activists over the election candidature for Mymensingh-10 (Gafargaon) constituency in the eleventh parliamentary elections.
Upazila BNP President and Mymensingh South District BNP vice-president AB Siddiqur Rahman received nomination letter from the party at 1pm on Tuesday, and he posted the news on social media Facebook.
On the other hand, the former office secretary of the central committee of Jatiyatabadi Shwechchhasebak Dal, Mymensingh South district BNP member Akteruzzaman Bachchu posted on Facebook claiming to be party nominee for the constituency.
Confusion brewed among the local leaders and activists of the organization due to the demand of two party candidates.
The municipal Jubo Dal president Saiful Islam Ripon said, in the Mymensingh-10 Gafargaon constituency, BNP candidate is AK Siddiqur Rahman. However, names of more than one person were kept on the nomination list in all areas. Letters were given to more than one person in some areas. Hopefully, finally AB Siddiqur Rahman will be nominated from the party.
Mymensingh South district BNP leader Akhtaruzzaman Bachchu said, “I have been told from the party that I am the candidate for Mymensingh-10 Gafargaon seat.
