Court orders to send BNP leader Giasuddin to jail
A Chattogram court on Thursday ordered to send BNP leader Giasuddin Quader Chowdhury to jail in a case filed for threatening to kill Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Jayanti Rani passed the order.
Giasuddin was the younger brother of Salauddin Quader Chowdhury, who had been sentenced to death for crimes against humanity.
Chattagram police court in-charge Bijon Kumar Barua said Giuasuddin appeared in court this morning seeking bail again. But the court rejected his bail plea.
Fatikchhari upazila unit Chhatra League president Jamal Uddin filed the case with Fatikchhari Police Station on May 30.
