Mother, son among 3 killed as microbus plunges into ditch
Three people, including a woman and her son, were killed and nine others injured as a microbus fell into a roadside ditch in Faridpur district on Friday afternoon.
Deceased Aslam Molla, 50, owner of Grameen Jewelers Ltd in Dhaka, his mother Mahirun Begum, 68, and another Asia Begum, 47.
Police said the vehicle plunged into a ditch in Komarpur, suburb of the district town, around 2:00pm after its driver lost control over steering, leaving two dead and nine injured.
The injured were taken to Faridpur Medical College Hospital where one died, said Kotwali Police Station officer in-charge (OC) AFM Nasim.
Police said Aslam met the tragic end when he along with family members was going to village home Deuli in Boalmari upazila of Faridpur from Dhaka by a microbus.
