Sirajganj road crash claims 8 lives
A head-on collision between a bus and a human hauler in Ullapara of Sirajganj on Sunday afternoon claimed eight lives.
Police said a Pabna-bound bus of 'Pabna Express' and a human hauler, locally known as Leguna, collided head on in Goruhata area on the Dhaka-Bogura highway at about 12:45pm, leaving eight killed and five others injured.
Three of the injured were shifted to Sirajganj Sadar Hospital and other hospitals.
Ullapara Fire Station master Nadir Hossain confirmed the matter.
Traffic on both sides of the highway remained suspended till filing of this report at about 1:40pm.
Most of the dead hailed from Koyra village in Ullapar upazila, said local people.
