2 of a family killed in Dinajpur accident
A woman and her daughter-in-law were killed in a road accident on Dinajpur-Gobindaganj highway in Nawabganj Upazila on Monday (June 10) night.
The deceased were identified as Amina Begum, 67, wife of Abdus Salam and her daughter-in law Sahida Begum, 55, wife of Abdur Rashid of Begunbari village in Ghoraghat upazila.
Subrato Kumer Sarker, officer in charge of Nawabganj police station, told Banglanews that the women were heading toward Nawabganj sadar by a battery-run van at night. The van overturned when it reached Vaduria Bazar.
At that time a speedy truck rammed into the two women, leaving them dead on the spot.
Locals seized the truck, but the driver and helper managed to escape.
On information, police rushed in and sent the bodies to M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital. An UD case has been filed with Nawabganj police station, the OC added.
