Road crash claims 25,526 lives in last 10 years
At least 25,526 people were killed in road accidents in the last ten years in Bangladesh.
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader revealed the information responding to a query made by BNP lawmaker M Harunur Rashid of Chapainawabganj-3 at the Jatiya Sangsad Wednesday (June 12).
“A total of 25,526 people were killed in the road accidents in the country from January 2009 to April 2019,” Quader said.
Besides, other 19,763 people were also wounded in the accidents during this time, he added.
The minister figured out lacks of awareness, proper infrastructure, overloading and various other problems for which the accidents occurred.
