Mother, 3 children burnt in N’ganj gas fire
A woman and her three underage children survived severe burn injuries in a fire erupted from a gas leakage at their residence in Fatullah of Narayanganj Saturday (April 6) night.
They are—Fatema Begum, 35, Safwan, 5, Faria, 9 and Rafi, 11.
Fatema’s husband was absent when the fire originated at their residence in Giridhara Residential Area around 8:30pm.
They were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 10pm.
Sabbir Hossain, a neighbor of the victims, confirmed the matter to Banglanews.
“All the four victims sustained severe burn injuries. Their condition is critical,” DMCH Police Outpost In-Charge Bachchu Mia told Banglanews quoting physicians.
Fatema sustained burn injuries to 94 percent to her body and Safwan 97 percent, Faria 90 percent and Rafi 98 percent, said a DMCH source.
Safwan is a fourth-grader and Faria is a fifth grader in a local school.
