Youth remanded over stealing female ridesharing driver’s scooter
A Dhaka court on Wednesday (Jan 16) placed a young man on two-day remand over allegedly stealing the scooter of a female rideshare driver.
Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Shafiqul Islam Khan took the accused Jony to Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court and pleaded seven-day remand.
Judge Md Shahidul Islam granted two-day remand for him.
Ridesharing driver Shahnaj’s scooter was stolen in a tricky way from Khamarbari area of the capital city, around 3pm Tuesday (Jan 15).
She filed a GD with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station.
Police later recovered the scooter from Narayanganj at the night and detained Jony.
