Modi presents prayers at Satkhira temple
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi over Saturday offered prayers at the centuries-old Jeshoreshwari Kali temple at Shyamnagar upazila on Shatkhira district.
Modi, who is on a two-day go to to the united states, was welcomed in a traditional way upon his arrival in the temple at Ishwarpur village.
Modi, wearing a mask, offered prayers inside temple and sat on to the floor as the priest was reciting the religious texts.
Regarding to Hindu mythology, the Jeshoreshwari Kali temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peeths.
Before, the Hindu community and temple authorities with the federal government support had redecorated the temple before Modi's visit.
