Jashore journalist dies of coronavirus found in Dhaka
Belal Hossain, managing editor of the Dainik Noapara, an area newspaper on Jashore, died of COVID-19 on Wednesday on Dhaka. He was 53.
Belal, also a soccer organiser, breathed his last at Dhaka Medical University Hospital at about 5:00am in Wednesday, said his elder brother and the daily's publisher Aslam Hossain.
Belal was buried at their family graveyard in village Shankarpasha under Avaynagar upazila after Esha prayer relative to the health guidelines.
Aslam Hossain said that Belal tested great for COVID-19 on June 18. He fell sick on that day and later on admitted to the DMCH where he previously been going through treatment at the ICU of Corona Device. He previously also long been suffering from kidney ailments and spending dialysis at Khulna Town Medical.
After Belal tested positive for the viral infection, he was used in Dhaka for better treatment, said Aslam.
The journalist was buried at his family graybeard.
With Belal, a complete of eight journalists and mass media employees died of COVID-19, while seven others died with COVID-19 symptoms.
Media residences and journalist organisations sources said that 434 journalists and media personnel were infected with the deadly virus as of Wednesday. Of these, 369 from Dhaka and 65 from across the country.
They were from 104 media houses including 55 newspapers, 27 television set channels, 16 online news portals, five radios and one news agency.
