HC order on DNCC, DSCC polls date Tuesday
The High Court has fixed Tuesday to pass its order over the election date of Dhaka's two city Corporations.
An HC bench of Justice JBM Hasan and Justice Khayrul Alam set the date on Monday following a writ petition filed by Adv Ashoke Kumar Ghosh.
Ashoke Kumar filed the writ before the HC on January 6 to defer the election date, slated for January 31, as Saraswati Puja, one of the religious festivals of the Hindu community, will be held on January 29 and 30.
In the writ he said, all the educational institutions across the country will be busy for holding programmes ahead of the puja at that time.
