Gazipur located on complete lockdown
All 57 wards of Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) have already been placed on lockdown in order to protect city dwellers from the contagious novel coronavirus and prevent its spread, reports news agency UNB.
GCC mayor M Jahangir Alam made the announcement on Tuesday in the wake of a rise in both deaths from COVID-19 and infections in the united states.
He said that they had to go for the lockdown to support the virus and check its spread.
During the lockdown, all sorts of mass gatherings will stay banned and no-one can come out of their residences without the emergency.
No vehicle will also be permitted to enter or leave the town, he added.
Check-posts have been create at 10 important points on two highways of the city to enforce the lockdown properly.
