Freeze bank accounts, passports of PK Haldar among 19: HC
The High Court has given directives to the authorities concerned to freeze the bank accounts and seize passports of 19 persons including Prashanta Kumar Halder, former Managing Director of NRB Global Bank and Reliance Finance Ltd.
An HC bench of Justice M Khurshid Alam passed the order on Tuesday after holding hearing on a petition filed by two investors in the share market to get back their money.
The court also appointed former Bangladesh Bank Deputy Governor Ibrahim Khaled as an independent director and chairman to run International Leasing and Finance Service Ltd.
Advocate Shahriar Kabir stood for the petitioner in the court.
BSS adds: The other 19 accused, who have been barred to leave the country are present shareholder directors and top executives of International Leasing and Finance Service Limited- MA Hashem, M Nurul Alam, Md Zahirul Alam, Nasim Anwar, Bashudeb Banerjee, Papia Banerjee, Momtaz Begum, Md Nowsherul Islam, Md Anwarul Kabir, Engr Md Nuruzzaman, Md Abul Hashem, Rashedul Haque,, PK Halder’s mother Lilaboti Halder, brother Pritish Kumar Halder, wife Sushmita Saha, cousins Amitav Adhikari, Abhijit Adhikari, former managing director of Bank Asia Erfanuddin Ahmed and one Uzzal Kumar Nandi.
