3 more held over throwing principal in pond
Police have arrested three more people in connection with the incident of throwing Rajshahi Polytechnic Institute principal in a campus pond.
The arrested men are Mehedi Hasan Ashique, 22, Mehedi hasan Hira, 23, and Nabiul Utsha, 20.
Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Chief Additional Deputy Commissioner Golam Ruhul Quddus said a team of the law enforcers nabbed the trio from different places of the city during a drive on Sunday night.
They arrested the culprits through CCTV footage and based on the information given by witnesses.
Meanwhile, the students of the institute staged demonstration on Monday morning demanding punishment of the accused.
Earlier on Saturday night, the police detained 25 people from the Polytechnic Institute mess. Of them, five were identified and they were sent to jail on Sunday.
