Rajshahi war criminal Musa to die
The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) convicted Abdus Samad (Musa) alias Feroz Khan of Puthiya in Rajshahi and awarded him to death penalty for killing 15 persons, including four Santals, during 1971 Liberation War. 

The three-member tribunal headed by Justice Md. Shahinur Islam delivered the verdict in a packed courtroom on Tuesday (August 27).

Earlier on July 8, the tribunal kept the verdict CAV for any day after concluding the arguments of both the parties.

Rishikesh Saha and Zahid Imam were prosecutors in the court while Abdus Sattar Palawan moved for the accused.

Earlier on April 12 last year, the prosecution pressed four charges against Abdus Samad Musa, 61, a Jamaat-e-Islami activist from Rajshahi, for his alleged involvement in war crimes during the Liberation War.

He was allegedly involved in murder, torture, looting and arson in Puthia and Durgapur upazilas, according to the charge sheet. He was arrested in January last year.

Earlier on January 14 last year, the investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) on Sunday submitted its report against a war crimes suspect from Puthia in Rajshahi.

The accused war criminal is Abdus Samad Musa alias Firoj Khan, son of late Abbas Ali. 

Faruk Hossain, investigator of the agency, said the 409-page probe report in four volumes was submitted to the tribunal's prosecutor in the afternoon.

Earlier in the morning, the investigation agency at a press briefing confirmed that it finalised its report against the war crimes suspect.

Prosecutor Zahid Imam said they finalised five specific charges, including murder, torture, looting and arson, against him.
