Woman, son die falling off running bus
A woman and her son were killed after falling off a running bus at Shimultali area in Araihazar upazila Narayanganj on Tuesday night.
The deceased were identified as Manchura, 25, a teacher of Darul Uloom Rahmania Madrasa, and her four-year-old son Asib, residents of Madhabdi upazila.
Quoting family, Kaspur highway police outpost in-charge Mozaffar said the door of the bus they were travelling slammed open when it was competing with another around 8:30pm.
Asib was flung onto the road from his mother's lap. Manchura also fell off the bus while trying to catch her son.
They were, later, run over by the other bus and died on the spot.
The duo met the tragic end of their lives while returning home.
On information, police seized the bus but its driver and his assistant managed to flee the scene, the official added.
