SI dies from bullet of his service revolver
Sub-Inspector Selim Jahangir of Kurigram Sadar police outpost was killed allegedly by bullet of his service revolver on Wednesday (August 28) afternoon.

Police are investigating the death whether it was suicide or accident. SI Selim, son of Abul Kalam Azad of Fulbari upazila of Dinajpur, joined Bangladesh police as ASI in 2007.

His colleague ASI Kamruzzaman told Banglanews that the police officer was cleaning his gun at his room around 3pm. But a sudden sound of firing at the flat saw the SI lying on the floor with blood oozing from his head. 

Later, he was taken to Kurigram Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. 

Residential Medical Officer (RMO) Dr Shahibur Rahman Sarder of the hospital told Banglanews, “It was initially believed that there were gunshot wounds in his head. However, details will be available after the post mortem.

Kurigram Police Super Muhibul Islam Khan said it is suspected that the SI was killed by bullet from his service revolver accidentally while he was cleaning the loaded weapon.
